UPDATE: Not only did the Adler campaign fix the word “determination,” but they also took my advice on the Oxford Comma and fixed that as well. I’m just glad that I could help.
Shelley Adler, the candidate in New Jersey’s 3rd Congerssional District who neither lives nor primarily raises funds from that district, is nothing if not “dertmined”, Save Jerseyans.
Yes I know “dertmined” is not a word. But someone should tell the Adler campaign.
Touting her record as a “PTA mom,” the Adler campaign managed to spell what I think was supposed to be “determination” incorrectly. This was the nicest way that I could think of to let them know of the error. As long as they go and fix it I promise not to mention the cruel irony of screwing up a sentence that makes a point to tie your candidate to education, however loosely.
Also, while I am being a stickler for proper treatment of the English language, would you guys mind throwing an Oxford Comma between the words “veterans” and “and?” That always bothers the hell out of me.
Actually, I can’t let this go either. You don’t “create” a discussion, you “begin” a discussion. And discussions are not “for” anything, they are “of” things.
Ok, I’m done. I promise. Just fix this up and we can pretend it never happened. Then the Adler campaign can get back to figuring out the important things, like how they are going to convince voters to cast their ballot for an outsider who can’t spell.
