A Great Argument for Auditing the Fed… from Harry Reid? (VIDEO)

I’m a proud Federalist, Save Jerseyans, and as such frequently find myself in opposition to Ron Paul’s Jeffersonian approach to governance. I like banks, but I also like checks and balances. Hence, I give Rep. Paul all the credit in the world for today’s vote of the U.S. House of Representatives to audit the Federal Reserve.

It passed the Republican-controlled chamber with substantial Democrat support: 327-98. If it ever became law, this legislation would allow the federal government to review the Fed’s controversial, shrouded-in-mystery policy deliberations.

A red letter day for Ron! That’s part of the reason why I’m genuinely disappointed to learn Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) has promised to kill Paul’s life’s work by refusing to bring it to the Senate Floor for a vote.

The ironic (and quite frankly disgusting) part of today’s story? Senator Reid previously introduced legislation to audit the Fed and even co-sponsored a series of bills in the 1990s designed to bring accountability and transparency to our nation’s out-of-control central banking system.

Watch, and tell me whether you’ve ever witnessed a bigger phony in your life!
