How Could Polish Paulbots Love a Reagan Hater?

It never ends, Save Jerseyans.

Earlier today, Polish Ron Paul backers managed to “photobomb” Mitt Romney’s Polish swing through Gdansk. Our domestic species of Paulbots proceeded to gleefully shared pics and video by way of social media channels of a giant “Ron Paul Revolution” banner waiving in the background as a seemingly-oblivious Governor Romney greeted dignitaries and assembled citizens.

According to The Daily Caller, the Polish Paulbot banner was produced by “Congress of the New Right,” a relatively new libertarian-leaning party that doesn’t yet claim any seats in its country’s parliament:

I find it all very ironic. In 1988, shortly after he quit the Republican Party, Ron Paul called Ronald Reagan “a dramatic failure” and, moreover, said “Reagan’s record is disgraceful. He starts wars, breaks the law, supplies terrorists with guns made at taxpayers’ expense and lies about it to the American people.” Congressman Paul further insisted that “the Republicans are on their way out as a major party.”

Hmmm… don’t take Ron Paul to a casino, Save Jerseyans!

And yes, I know, he vote in favor of SDI. I hear you. But at the end of the day, Ron Paul vocally repudiated Reaganism and the presidential administration that de facto liberated Eastern Europe from Soviet oppression. For anyone in Eastern Europe to hold him out as a preferred successor to Barack Obama strikes me as a profoundly ignorant gesture. Even a little ungrateful. Dangerously so, given all that’s at stake this November and in the coming years as Russia once again rattles its formidable saber and sets out on an expansionist trajectory.
