Q2 Fundraising Results: Menendez Outpaces 2006 “Cash on Hand” Lead

State Senator Joe Kyrillos (R-NJ) raised closed to $1.2 million in the 2nd Quarter of 2012, partly due to the assistance of Mitt Romney, and now has approximately $2 million cash on hand going forward.

Incumbent Bob Menendez (D-NJ) did better with Bill Clinton’s help, pulling in $1.7 million during the same period. He now has $10.3 million cash on hand – nearly 5x the resources of Senator Kyrillos

The Kyrillos campaign says its latest fundraising numbers are a reason for optimism:

Bob Menendez has raised millions of dollars from special interests,”said Kyrillos Campaign Manager Chapin Fay.  “Oil companies, banks and Wall Street are all kicking in big bucks.  And like Jon Corzine did in2009, Menendez will have more money in this race. But no amount of money can explain away Bob Menendez’s failed record on jobs and the economy.  We are right on pace for Joe Kyrillos to have the resources necessary to get out his job growth message.”

In the interim… need a little perspective in relation to Senator Menendez’s last election in 2006?

It won’t make you feel better, Save Jerseyans.

For the 2nd Quarter in 2006, Menendez had $7.4 million cash on hand to State Senator Tom Kean, Jr.’s $2.25 million. That means Menendez is outpacing his prior fundraising performance.

  1. I am so impressed with Senator Menendez in so many areas, it's unbelievable that one might pick jobs & the economy to blame on him alone. Lack of jobs, is certainly not one person's fault. But WHO is Joe Kyrillos? What does he stand for? We all have the same message as Joe Kyrillos' job growth message, but its not an easy fix. What does Joe Kyrillos plan to do to increase job growth. I heard more from his wife when he won the primary than I did from him….
