Trenton Dems Declare War On Free Speech, Ignore Economy

Coming in the same week that their Senate President Steve Sweeney, declared war on the Dormant Commerce Clause, Trenton Democrats will meet tomorrow (Thursday, 9/26) and take aim at another pillar of our American constitutional system…

…free speech.

Yes, Save Jerseyans. It’s been 87 days since the Democrat Legislature has failed to act on tax relief, 136 days of inaction on property tax loopholes, 261 since they’ve taken up shared services reform, 602 days for civil service reform, 658 of having ignored sick leave payout reform, and 750 days without movement on pending ethics reforms.

But tomorrow, two committees dominated by Trenton Democrats will grandstand and thump their chests in opposition to the U.S. Supreme Court’s Citizens United decision. They’ll adopt a resolution, AR-86 (and a companion State Senate screed), which obviously has no effect whatsoever on a federal court decision. It certainly won’t make New Jersey any less expensive to do business, own a home or raise a family. It sure as heck won’t put a single unemployed New Jerseyan back to work or attract a single new business from a neighboring state.

They’re going to do it anyway, and then someone from their side of the aisle will crown their hypocrisy by, from elsewhere in the State House, releasing a statement blaming Chris Christie (who has been in office only since January 2010) for New Jersey’s economy (which the Democrats had exclusive influence over for the 8 preceding years).

Don’t be fooled, my friends.

  1. An impressive share, I just given this onto a colleague who was doing a little analysis on this. And he in actual fact purchased me breakfast for the reason that I identified it for him.. smile. So let me reword that: Thnx for the treat! But yeah Thnkx for spending the time to talk about this, I really feel strongly about it and really like reading more on this subject. If possible, as you develop into expertise, would you mind updating your blog with even more details? It's extremely valuable for me. Big thumb up for this blog post!
