So the GOP had its party last week and the Democrats now get their turn. While the DNC in Charlotte has not yet officially begun, lots of buzz has been mounting around the three day event.
Being that the DNC is going second this year, you will hear a lot of rebuttal to what you heard last week. You’ll hear an already circulating refrain that the GOP is running a party and a platform from a different decade or century. And finally, you’ll hear an ode to the greatness of government, rather than that greatness that is America, as you heard last week.
So with all of the substantial differences that will surely be discussed at water coolers and here on Save Jersey all week long, lets focus on something completely superficial for a moment.
The set at the RNC, a multi-screen set up that changed to compliment the speeches being given, was the subject of praise and scorn on twitter. Some found the moving background incredibly distracting and downright annoying while people were speaking. Others found it to be a brilliant and modern tool that helped with the presentation.
Getting the first good look at the DNC stage, it seems that they will bet taking a similar approach with multiple, coordinated LCDs, but with a more circular look.
So I ask you the important question, Save Jerseyans, which set is best?
Teleprompters are really catching on. The Republicans used one to script a vote on rule changes at their convention. The screen said "the ayes have it," despite what really happened on the floor. Then folks chanted "USA! USA!"
