I Told You Ron Paul is a Big Jerk

After months of sitting on his bony little rear and refusing to endorse Mitt Romney, retiring U.S. Rep Ron Paul (R-TX) is finally opening his mouth…

…to complain about Barack Obama’s victory. And depress us all in the process:

Rep. Ron Paul, whose maverick presidential bids shook the GOP, said in the wake of this week’s elections that the country has already veered over the fiscal cliff and he sees no chance of righting ship in a country where too many people are dependent on government.

“We’re so far gone. We’re over the cliff,” the Texas Republican told Bloomberg Television’s “In the Loop” program. “We cannot get enough people in Congress in the next 5-10 years who will do wise things.” The video can be seen at http://www.bloomberg.com/video/ron-paul-on-fiscal-cliff-and-vows-to-compromise-MYkAiqYBTaiHwXZL9Tvxkw.html.

Now do you understand why I said he has no place in the GOP, Save Jerseyans?

3,000,000 Americans who voted for John McCain sat home on Election Day. It’s safe to assume that at least a few of them were Paul supporters. Considering how Mitt lost Florida by less than 1%, Gary Johnson’s 44,101 votes might end up being decisive along with those who simply decided there wasn’t “enough of a difference” between Obama and Romney to go vote.

Tell that to a small businessman today… or the employees he’s about to either (1) lay off or (2) dump into the federal healthcare system.

Have fun in retirement, you jerk. Good riddance.

  1. Rooney, you ought to stick to providing comic relief. You aren't qualified to proffer opinions as to why Romney lost this election. You were, after all, the same scatterbrained idiot who, just day ago, was saying that all the polls were wrong. You were also predicting that Romney would garner 320 Electoral College votes. A week ago, you believed Ron Paul couldn't stop Romney from being elected. Now you are blaming him for Romney's defeat? Have you no shame, Matt?

  2. Ron Paul is an ego maniac. He's the opposite of a party builder. Where have all the great men gone?

  3. I never said it was all his fault. I said he's a jerk for (1) sitting on his hands then (2) complaining when the result is terrible.

And no, I'm not ashamed to tell it like it is.

  4. ron paul didnt endorse mccain in 08, why would he endorse "white obama" romney this time. even if he did. his followers wouldnt vote romney anyway. he has been speaking the same truth for a long time now and if more people would listen and understand maybe the election would have had a different result…and that doesnt mean romney winning as he is part of the problem

why not blame the evangelical christians for refusing to vote for a mormon? why not blame the seniors for not voting for paul ryan? why not blame romney for not getting hispanics because he didnt choose rubio? why not blame akin and murdock for making those awful rape comments alienating women

everyone but romney and the GOP is at fault i guess…

  5. When oh when will these Paulbots go away?? They claim to vote based on principle, but don't care that casting that vote helps Obama win again and will ruin our countr.

Ron Paul supporters are self-serving hypocrites. And apparently they can't read and comprehend either. You never stated that he was the cause of Romney losing. Selective reading. You are coming out against him not helping the in the election and now bitching about the outcome. Go away Ron Paul!

Goodbye and good riddance to the "crazy uncle" who should have NEVER been let out of the attic.

  6. An unabashed liberal, I tend to disagree with all of your opinions, but I read the site because of posts like this. You are spot on and recognize a fundamental problem with the GOP and pack it with no B.S. Good for you.

  7. """"how Mitt lost Florida by less than 1%, Gary Johnson’s 44,101 votes might end up being decisive along with those who simply decided there wasn’t “enough of a difference” between Obama and Romney to go vote"""

That pointless now since Obama won 50.1% vote meaning all of Gary johnson and every other person votes still meant he would have lost. Simple fact is Obama voters come out, why did the Rep Not come out?

  8. I usually really like this site and I read it quite often, but as someone who is a Ron Paul supporter, I found this post sort of rude. First of all, why talk about him sitting on his "bony but"? That's like saying Chrstie sat on his fat ass and I'm sure you would be against that, as would I.

One thing you fail to realize though is that Paul would have made the same remark if Romney won.

And no, people who voted for Gary Johnson did not waste their vote. The only people that waste their vote are those who don't believe in the candidate they're voting for.

And lastly, I doubt many McCain voters were Ron Paul supporters to be honest.
