We’ve been tracking Mayor Cory Booker’s “SNAP challenge” stunt for a week, Save Jerseyans, and I’m still amazed there’s anyone out there who takes this guy seriously.
Then again, we’re living (or “subsisting”) in the age of Obama, and I’m apparently a little too old fashioned for the electorate at the tender age of 28. The November results proved it once and for all. Ours is a form-over-substance culture where YouTube video performances trump traditional accomplishments (e.g. building businesses, raising a healthy family) in the court of popular opinion.
So who knows… maybe Cory Booker can be governor in spite of an early polling deficit? Why the hell not. Al Franken is a U.S. Senator and Ashley Judd wants to join him. The most influential surrogate of 2012? Sandra Fluke. Whatever!
He’s certainly interested. The Brick City Democrat dropped by CBS’s Face the Nation program on Sunday morning to discuss his time living the foodstamp diet and pitch greater access to… farmers’ markets (?); he also told Bob Schieffer that he plans to make a gubernatorial announcement (one way or the other) before Christmas:

The way he is "shopping" for this publicity stunt is a joke. He could easily have made better decisions. Further, he is acting as if that is all the money he has but it is only supposed to be a supplement.
