Meet Carlo Dilalla

Election 2013 Meet the Candidates Series Continues for the Week of July 15th

By Nicole Sanders | The Save Jersey Blog

Carlo DilallaAs part of my ongoing efforts to introduce candidates to the voting public, I started a weekly column called Meet the Candidates. In essence, Save Jerseyans, it is a past day stump speech updated for the virtual world.

For this week’s column, I am honored to introduce to you District 17’s Assembly candidate, Carlo Dilalla.

Carlo went to the University of North George where he got a B.B.A. in Finance and Management. He is currently a Financial Consultant, President of the North Brunswick Soccer Club and the Vice Chair of the North Brunswick Republican Party.

My interview with the Assembly Candidate Dilalla is below the fold…

Sanders: What are your greatest legislative or personal accomplishments thus far?

Dilalla:  My greatest personal accomplishment thus far has been serving the youth of North Brunswick by providing a sport which they can learn and play. It develops them physically, mentally and gives them self-confidence. It is my belief playing team sports and being part of team boosts our children’s life skills and teaches them how to deal with society and the sense of good sportsmanship.

Sanders: There was a recent law passed making the penalties for texting while driving stricter. Do you feel this was necessary? What is your stance on texting while driving?

Dilalla: In my personal opinion, I feel that current law that was passed was necessary.  When you experience tragedy as I did this past year you would agree that we need tougher laws. Bill S69 doubles the fines on first, second and third offenses. I think after the second offense there should be a license suspension for 3 month period of time with a fine. Keeping people from texting or talking on the phone while driving will ensure all roads are safer in New Jersey.

Sanders: It is stated on your Facebook campaign page you want to “offer (your) experience and provide the residents of Legislative District 17 which genuine leadership.” What experience from your current line of work will help you if you are elected?

Dilalla: In my current line of work, I prepare plans for business owners to secure their financial future.  When changes take place in a business owners life I make sure they keep pace those changes.  The way I do that is by developing and implementing strategies that keep their financial plans doing what they were designed to do.

The same goes for our state of New Jersey. As things change we must alter our plans to make sure we spend our money wisely and always within a budget. I believe working smart and efficient is the key to being prosperous.

Sanders: If your prospective constituents wanted to reach out to you and ask you questions about your positions or to learn how to volunteer for your campaign, whom can they reach out to?

Dilalla: I am available anytime and am here to address any questions you may have. My email address is cdilalla@aol.com.  I look forward to hearing from all of my constituents.

Sanders: In a short closing statement, please advise why your constituents should vote for you what you wish to accomplish as an Assemblyman?

Dilalla: My current opponents have held the office for a long tenure and in that period of time they have raised taxes 115 times. Now if you feel raising taxes are fine then you should vote for them again and help our state become a ghost town. New Jersey holds the honor of having two number 1 issues in the nation  that are driving people and business out of our state they are:  highest property taxes and the highest school taxes.

Our currently Assemblymen in all the time they held office have NO PLAN to lower your property taxes and school taxes, in fact they are thinking of ways of raising them again. It is time for the people in district 17 to wake up and smell the coffee, if we are to survive then it is time we implement new leadership with new ideas . You do not have to be a brain surgeon to figure out how to lower these taxes it just takes a little common sense.  The plan I have put together is a plan similar to what is being done in other states and I would be willing to discuss these plans with anyone. At least we have someone thinking.

If you are a candidate or are working with a candidate and are interested in being a part of my weekly Meet the Candidates article, Save Jerseyans, please email me at nikisands3@hotmail.com.
