What’s new in the #njsen race today?
Nothing good for Cory Booker (D-Twitter).
First the boring item: a new Kean University likely voter poll shows him leading Steve Lonegan by 19-points. Solid, no doubt, but still indicative of significant tightening in the race to succeed Jeff Chiesa. Tuesday’s Quinnipiac Poll showed Lonegan within 12-points among likely voters.
And then there’s the fun story.
Cory Booker is notoriously undiscriminating with his tweets; one of his Twitter pen pals is allegedly a stripper (hubba hubba!), so Buzzfeed put together a funny little run-down of their convos. Here’s the link to Buzzfeed’s post, Save Jerseyans [WARNING: the images are neither work safe nor family friendly].
I don’t find it to be a particularly compelling or consequential story from a political POV save for the fact that it once again proves that the Mayor of Newark is a less-than-impressive judge of character. We already knew that.
I’ll be much more interested, however, if Buzzfeed can locate the real T-Bone’s account…
