U.S. Rep. Leonard Lance (R-N.J.) may play a key role in the ongoing partial federal shutdown controversy, Save Jerseyans.
His office told The Washington Post on Tuesday that the Central Jersey Congressman “is opposed to a clean CR at this time and supports Speaker Boehner’s efforts to negotiate.”
Rep. Lance had previously expressed disapproval of the shutdown despite being an ardent critic of the Affordable Care Act a/k/a Obamacare.
Other New Jersey House members, including Rep. Frank LoBiondo (R-NJ02) and Rep. Jon Runyan (R-NJ03) joined Pennsylvania Republicans Patrick Meehan, Charlie Dent, Lou Barletta, Jim Gerlach, Mike Fitzpatrick over the weekend in a joint letter supporting the passage of a “clean” continuing resolution.
Lance’s decision comes as the House GOP appears to be digging in and refusing to accept anything less than a good faith negotiation with the White House for a one-year delay of ObamaCare’s implementation.
Thank You Congressman Lance…….all GOP Congress members will also hold firm. Congressman Andrews along with 27 moderate red state Democrats are already voting to stop Obama and Reid's shutdown.
