It’s been a real roller coaster ride in LD2, Save Jerseyans.
With the provisional ballots counted, incumbent Asm. John Amodeo (R) leads challenger Vincent Mazzeo (D) by just 10 votes. Democrats dispute this total, claiming Amodeo’s lead is down to 2 votes.
Since 118 provisional ballots were challenged, an election judge will now need to intervene and make a ruling as to whether these ballots will be included in the final tally.
109 of the 118 were allegedly challenged due to the fact that only one poll worker signature on each provisional ballot (I’m told New Jersey law requires the signatures of two poll workers). The other 9 ballots were challenged following expressed concerns pertaining to the authenticity of the actual ballot signature.
