They may hate Republicans, Save Jerseyans, but when the liberals at Rutgers box themselves into a self-induced commencement jam, it’s another prominent GOP’er who bailed them out.
NJ.com is reporting that former Governor Tom Kean has agreed to serve as the 2014 Rutgers University commencement speaker after Dr. Condoleeza Rice bowed out on Saturday.
It’s hard to imagine anyone having a problem with such a seasoned, famously-class statesmen addressing the graduates of the largest university of the state which he led (pretty damn well) for two whole terms.
Then again, it’s hard to imagine who could’ve had a problem with Dr. Rice.
Wait until the protesters find out from their professors that he was the force behind the 9/11 commission report…
In any event, you can’t blame the Administration for wanting to move on. “I look forward to a day of joy and celebration for our graduating students and their families, and I am glad that Gov. Kean will be able to share his wisdom with our Class of 2014,” RU President Robert Barchi said in a statement announcing the speaker change-up. That makes two of us!
Kick-save, and a beauty, RU
Certainly not called up from the minors.
