Well there you have it.
On Wednesday afternoon, Mercer County Superior Court Assignment Judge Mary Jacobson (whose position made her the point person for high-profile matters including the SCI Bridgegate subpoenas and gay marriage) struck down a law suit filed by various New Jersey organized labor groups; their goal was to compel Governor Chris Christie and Treasurer Michael Sidamin-Eristoff to make $2.4 billion in redirected pension payments in the FY 2015 budget.
The Administration welcomed the Judge’s decision.
“This was one of the hard choices the people of New Jersey expect me to make, and I am pleased the court recognized the necessity and urgency of this decision so that we can provide key funding for our schools, our colleges, our hospitals and other essential services,” Governor Christie said in a statement. “For our state’s families who are already overburdened by high taxes, raising taxes even further would not solve a problem created by decades of neglect and irresponsibility.”
