I’ve done my best to give you a look at the Second Amendment perspectives of both potential GOP Runyan replacements in CD3, Save Jerseyans.

In short, I didn’t uncover too many differences.

America’s leading gun rights organization agrees.

The NRA released New Jersey Election 2014 ratings on Monday (primary eve); Tom MacArthur and Steve Lonegan both earned ‘AQ’ ratings, the third highest possible grade, which the NRA describes as indicating that the politician in question is “[a] pro-gun candidate whose rating is based solely on the candidate’s responses to the NRA-PVF Candidate Questionnaire and who does not have a voting record on Second Amendment issues.”

Draw your own conclusions; then click here to view the rest of the New Jersey 2014 ratings.

  1. MacArthur bailed out of AIG when things got hot, he bailed out of York just in time and he didn’t finish his term as mayor of Randolph. How can we trust somebody like him to support 2nd Amendment rights?

  2. That Daily Caller article was fed to the young reporter by a Lonegan staffer. It was bull.

If you checked up on the minutes of meeting it referred to, you would find out that the facts did not support the story’s conclusion.

  3. Another Lonegan Lie.

Tom completed one term as Mayor. A term in Randolph is for one year.

One could make a career out of correcting Lonegan’s lies.

  4. Yes, you may be right about the one-year thing. Mayors are not elected in Randolph. It is decided amongst the town council. One year as mayor is not something to brag about. How many years was he on the town council?

  5. Pretty sure MacArthur served just one term in office, which I believe was three years. By contrast, under the borough form of government in Bogota, Steve Lonegan served as Mayor for three terms, winning re-election handily in a strongly Democratic municipality. It just goes to show that Lonegan’s brand of conservatism can be embraced by a widespread part of the electorate, and is not “out of touch with New Jersey” as the RINO elite likes to claim.
