Donald Norcross’s first NJ-01 general election mailer hit mailboxes over the weekend, Save Jerseyans.
You’d never know that the guy is a key player in his notoriously wealthy and powerful brother’s statewide political organization, and that he’s been eating with Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi for the past two months, if this mailer was your first introduction to the 2014 congressional race.
But for many people it is (the low-budget Cobb campaign is trying to maximize its resources with online outreach), so I have to give his machine consultants credit for recognizing that this reads much better… even if the “ideas” inside the fold wouldn’t help keep American job creators’ lights on:
Brilliant campaign ad, but also one of the most misleading and borderline dishonest pieces I’ve ever seen. I’d like to know the last time Don Norcross got his hands dirty doing anything other than pocketing cash from big brother George’s well-oiled Democrat political machine. The last thing Washington needs is another double or triple dipper like Don Norcross.
