Ballot Question 2 will prove to be yet another in a long line of expensive nightmares for the New Jersey taxpayer if it passes on Tuesday, Save Jerseyans.
I’ve already broken down the major reasons to vote NO point-by-point; to drive the point home one more time with only hours left to go before the issue is decided, our friend Daryn Iwicki from AFP-NJ called in over the weekend and shared his two cents:
The NJ Constitution was never intended to control the state budget and allowing that to happen will cause disaster down the road as you would have tied the hands of lawmakers when they may need to make speedy decisions at the time of a disaster. It would mean that no matter what happens, explosions, hurricanes, riots, bank failures… NJ could not use the open space $ to quell the upheaval. We need to get our priorities straight. 30% of the state land is controlled by one branch of government or another; time to worry about the bridges…
No on both questions.
I like how they are banding everything they can together with this, to get votes. I told people this in my office, and they still think it’s about historical preservation, and clean water
