Well, it sounds like a state takeover of AC’s vital functions through the appointment of an “emergency manager” may be imminent, Save Jerseyans, not long after news broke that United Airlines is flying the coop (which overshadows the Stockton announcement… kind of shame).
Gov. Christie & Co. maintained a determined, united front at Wednesday’s summit part 2:
Here’s my honest-to-goodness question for the stakeholders: what can the state really do to help matters?
Other than move on some of the items discussed here at Save Jersey which, frankly, don’t require a takeover?
It’s not as if Trenton has been a successful steward of the rest of the state! And the Camden takeover experience wasn’t exactly fruitful.
Moreover, absolutely no one is blaming newly-minted Mayor Don Guardian since he literally just inherited this mess but good grief, he’s already taking corrective budgetary steps that legislators would never dare attempt.
I’m open to hearing the details of whatever comes next but don’t count me among the optimistic.
“We’re from Trenton and we’re here to help you”. Let me guess that the Viceroy will be a lawyer. That will fix everything.
You Can’t Fix (STUPID or OR BAD MANAGEMENT BY THEAFS)
