Vince Mazzeo needs some new advisers.
The freshman Assemblyman offered a weak sauce defense against gaming expansion into North Jersey back in November, saying only that “that’s for another time, another day down the road. Hopefully, way down the road.” Not exactly a “no” right?
But regardless of where you come down on the issue, Save Jerseyans, you can’t think much of Mazzeo’s “plan” to save Atlantic City since it’s underpinned by double-digit tax increases.
2015 looms large as Mazzeo’s first reelect cycle. A.C. Republicans continue to push back and Mazzeo’s lame non-answer is giving them license to push hard. The latest: this past week, the entire Atlantic County Freeholder Board (Democrat and Republican members alike) voted to oppose Mazzeo’s casino bailout plan…
