3rd Circuit Upholds New Jersey’s Gay Conversion Therapy Ban

GavelThe U.S. Third Circuit Court of Appeals has declared that a ban on conversion therapy in the Garden State does not violate the First Amendment rights of minors and their parents, Save Jerseyans, turning back a challenge to the law based primarily on the Free Exercise Clause.

Three U.S. jurisdictions – New Jersey, California, and the District of Columbia – have outright bans in place; 18 other states are presently debating similar measures.

Governor Chris Christie signed the bill banning New Jersey-based conversion therapy back in August 2013.

  1. This legislation actually does make sense and can save lives…. the “ex-gay” thing is actually a crock and I was happy to see the convicted felon and founder of JONAH, Arthur Abba Goldberg put out of business. Only you, Chad, and Dr Mengele have complained..
