Another potent advocacy group is weighing into this cycle’s increasingly ugly LD24 GOP primary, Save Jerseyans.

On Tuesday, incumbent Assemblyman Parker Space and his running mate, Freeholder Gail Phoebus, trumpeted the endorsement of the New Jersey Organization for a Better State (NEW JOBS), the political PAC of the New Jersey Business and Industry Association (NJBIA).

“In these difficult economic times, it has never been more important to elect and retain pro-business candidates and legislators who understand the needs of business,” opined Stefanie Riehl, Executive Director of NEW JOBS.

“Our endorsements are not based on party affiliation,” she continued, “but rather, the willingness of each candidate to lower the cost of doing business, strengthen the business climate, and create jobs in our great State. We thank Parker Space and Gail Phoebus for their hard work and their commitment to the economic viability of our State.”

The LD24 ticket, backed by retiring Assemblywoman Alison McHose, says this endorsement carries extra significance. “NEW JOBS rarely endorses non-incumbents in primaries,” added Phoebus. “They were impressed by my business acumen, my record as a county and local official, and my grasp of the issues we face in Trenton. They know I will stand up and fight the anti-growth agenda of the Democrat majority in the Legislature.”

Space and Phoebus were also endorsed by the New Jersey Outdoor Alliance and New Jersey Right to Life State PAC. Their opponents next month are former Green Mayor Marie Bilik and 23-year old Branchville resident Nathan Orr.
