Christie squeezed by Trump, Kasich heading into debate #1

The good news for Governor Chris Christie, Save Jerseyans?

He’s looking solid for participation in Thursday’s prime time GOP debate, sitting in the 10-slot on RCP but coming in at #7 in Patrick Murray’s latest Monmouth University Poll (exhibit right).

The bad news? Or at least less-good news? Ohio’s John Kasich, one of Christie’s RGA buddies and a newer entry to the field, is contributing to the growing lack of elbow room for the New Jerseyan. And it’s putting the hurt on his polling prospects.

“Kasich’s recent entrance into the race will only make it more difficult for Christie to win over moderate and independent voters in the state,” explained NationalJournal’s Hotline staff in their latest 2016 Republican nomination race rankings.

Trump had already stolen Christie’s playbook to corner, at least for now, the “I want someone who speaks plainly and bombastically” vote. With Kasich/Bush/Walker to his left (figuratively speaking, of course) AND the Donald to his right, where is he supposed to go?

We’ll get a better idea of what ‘Plan C’ looks like on Thursday evening.

  1. That’s bullshit. I’m from Jersey myself, and i can tell you, Christy is NOT a conservative. No more politicians! Office is a civic duty… Get these Fucking prick lawyer politicians OUT of here. They distort everything to their favor.
