150 turn out in Millburn for Lance’s Iran Deal town hall

An oppressive August heat didn’t keep the citizens of New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District from turning out to discuss this summer’s hottest political topic with their federal legislator, Save Jerseyans.

lance town hall iran150 New Jerseyans packed into Millburn City Hall on Tuesday night to hear Rep. Leonard Lance, co-chair of the House Republican Israel Caucus, discuss the ins and out of President Obama’s end-run Iranian non-proliferation agreement with Iran. Lance has been consistently critical of the process

“The paramount goal of a nuclear agreement with Iran is to prevent a state-sponsor of terror from attaining nuclear weapons,” Lance explained back in July. ” The agreement the President announced today appears to make no such guarantee.  In fact, the proposed deal awards Iran billions of U.S. dollars in sanctions relief without ensuring the permanent dismantling of its existing nuclear infrastructure or the promise of ‘anytime, anywhere’ inspections.  Tough sanctions brought the Iranian leaders to the table, kept them there and will hold them accountable.  Removing sanctions without lasting results achieves nothing.”

Congress is receiving a crush of phone calls now that the deal is moving forward (for now); even the likes of Chuck Schumer (D-NY) are said to be buckling under the pressure.

The Congressman’s next Iran Deal town hall meeting is scheduled for  Monday, August 10th from 5:45 pm to 7:15 pm at the Montgomery Township Municipal Building in Belle Mead.

  1. Lenny Lance must really be afraid of Dave Larson if he is taking a stand not on the approved list of Bohner and McConnell.
