Rep. Scott Garrett (R, NJ-05) is officially on the schedule for the 2016 Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC).

“It’s not easy being a conservative from New Jersey but Scott Garrett has consistently led on conservative issues,” said American Conservative Union Chairman Matt Schlapp in a press release obtained by Save Jersey. “He will be a great addition to ACU’s flagship event, CPAC and we are pleased that he has agreed to participate.”

“Hardworking families know that good jobs are still hard to come by and the American Dream is stifled by big government. Our complicated tax code is more punitive than fair, thousands of new regulations bog down innovators, and the nearly $20 trillion national debt is jeopardizing our future,” added Rep. Garrett who faces a well-funded challenger, Josh Gottheimer, from the Clinton World this upcoming fall. “But being a conservative is about solving problems, and that’s why I’m proud to join CPAC to discuss solutions that will jumpstart our economy and return our nation to prosperity.”

The annual conference is scheduled for March 2-5 at the Gaylord Hotel National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland. This year’s theme – “Our Time is Now” – is a reference to Ronald Reagan’s famous 1981 CPAC address.
