Flanked by allies moderate Kip Bateman (R-16) and libertarian Mike Doherty (R-23), Congressman Leonard Lance kicked off his reelection campaign on Monday with a four-stop district-wide tour revolving around the theme of uniting the Republican Party with his party’s Trump indecision as a backdrop.
Styling himself as a “Reagan Republican,” the congressman pledged to support “the conservative principles that will make the 21st century the second American century” at a rally on the Somerset County Courthouse steps.
Lance also held same-day events in Flemington, Cranford and Mine Hill.
Three Republicans are challenging the Congressman in June led by returning repeat challenger David Larsen.
