Chris Christie’s second-in-command and the front runner for next year’s N.J. GOP gubernatorial nomination is now officially a #NeverTrumper.
Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno (R-Monmouth) showed her cards on Saturday as the manufactured controversy surrounding Donald Trump’s decade-old vulgar recording continued to dominate the national political conversation. The former Monmouth County Sheriff is only the latest high ranking Republican to repudiate Trump over the weekend.
Here’s how she responded to an inquiring Daily Journal reporter on Twitter:
No apology can excuse away Mr. Trump's reprehensible comments degrading women. We're raising my 3 boys to be better than that.

Answering a follow-up question from NJ Advance Media, Guadagno explained she “can’t support Hillary Clinton, and I won’t vote for Donald Trump.”
The LG’s position represents her first major public break from Governor Christie, Donald Trump’s most visible elected supporter and a man who’s notorious for not tolerating anything other than 100% loyalty; Asm. Jack Ciattarelli (R-Somerset), who announced a challenge to Guadagno last week, is already on record refusing to support Trump.
