Is an unusual step, Save Jerseyans, the Governor’s office announced Sunday that Chris Christie and his Lieutenant Governor, Kim Guadagno, would both be in attendance at a Monday morning (11am) cabinet meeting.
The significance?
(1) Christie rarely announces cabinet meetings; and
(2) Over the weekend, Governor Christie met with President-elect Donald Trump at his Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey, presumably to talk about a potential role in his forming administration.
All of this comes as allies of Christie claim the much-discussed fall-out between America’s President-elect and the veteran governor has been “overblown.”
We’re also expecting a new round of presidential administration cabinet selections any moment now.
Could Christie be ready to signal he’s moving on? And leave Drumthwacket to Guadagno? Notwithstanding their boiling-to-the-surface internal executive branch feud over the gas tax?
