REPORT: Christie’s Out As Trump-Pence Transition Chair

trump christieNew Jersey Governor Chris Christie‘s future just got a little more cloudy, at least for those of us closely monitoring where he’s headed next.

The New York Times is reporting that Vice President-elect Mike Pence is supplanting Christie as White House transition chairman. It’s a spot that Christie has held for much of 2016 since formally endorsing Trump.

The Republican Governor had appeared to be in for a busy month when Trump thanked him from the podium early Wednesday morning.

Christie will reportedly remain on the team as a “vice chair.”

Vice-President-elect Mike Pence will take the reins as chairman.

It’s unclear whether Bridgegate-related concerns, or some other internal calculation or reordering of the core Trump team (e.g. Christie’s already accepted an important, major position which demands his immediate attention? Like Attorney General or White House Counsel?), is responsible for today’s Friday news dump.

The story is HERE.
