When they’re not living the Jersey Dream, blogging about it or interacting with regional/national media, Save Jersey contributors regularly appear around the Garden State before local conservative groups, young Republican organizations and Tea Party groups.

Sadly I have come to expect government waste. My concern with this tragedy is those looking to take advantage of an already bad situation. Look at the foundation that is controlling the funds from the Springsteen / Bon Jovi effort. For a liberal based organization and a non profit, it seems to invest heavily in offshore and Alternative Asset ( the new name for VC’s thanks to barry) which disturbs me a bit. Looking at the political stands of those involved with that effort, you would think they would prefer different investment opportunities.
@Michael Don’t mention it. And no problem. We have spent a lot of time looking into government waste: http://savejersey.com/2013/01/sandy-package-house-vote-today-pork/
I now understand that but it might be something you guys would consider looking into. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
@Michael Understood, though for the record, this post has nothing to do with Sandy or fundraising generally. These are speaking events around the Garden State.
Just saying I have been hearing much about fundraising efforts but almost no coverage of how or where these funds are being spent. Like the big Concert with Springsteen Et al last month. When I looked into the Org that was raising the funds, it would seem that one, their primary concern is charter schools in NY and two, their primary concern is NY. Just saying it would be nice to hear someone actually benefitting from all of the fund raising that is taking place.
@Michael These are speaking events, not fundraisers. Care to clarify your question?
I hear a lot about event, little about what they are doing with the money raised. Can you share any stories? I know of a lot of hurting people out there.
Whats the Dates & Where..??
