OPINION: Support Free Enterprise? Support Hank Lyon

Hank Lyon

It’s a tale as old as time, or at least as old as a few decades, that New Jersey has the highest taxes in the country.

That fact, coupled with the regulatory burden applied at every level of government, makes this state a tough place for small businesses to work and be profitable.

The struggle is real for these business owners, and absent a few lone voices, these complaints tend to fall on the deaf ears that stroll the halls of the Statehouse in Trenton. Fortunately for the residents of New Jersey’s 26th legislative district, a true free enterprise Republican is on the primary ballot this June.

Hank Lyon is not a conservative in name only, he has proven during his time on the Morris County Freeholder Board that he will stand up for all businesses in the district regardless of size, while still ensuring and expecting a high level of safety and professionalism from those who enter into contracts with the County.

As a small business owner himself, he understands the challenges and soft costs that are incurred when excessive regulations flow unchecked from the government boards that pass these laws and resolutions to company board rooms that have to comply.

He has experience in how both government and business work, and more importantly is not afraid to speak up about how they can work better together.  He’s not just in it to improve the business environment, but to improve the cost of living burden that has New Jersey near the top of the list among states for out migration each year.

If you’re a Republican who thinks its time for a shift in the Trenton status quo, then you should cast your vote for Hank Lyon on June 6.
