Barlas’s Essex Backs Ciattarelli Over Guadagno: ‘Only Candidate with a Vision’

Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno is on a roll this week, Save Jerseyans, locking up the line in Bergen County (where roughly 1/10th of the state’s registered Republicans reside) and South Jersey’s Gloucester County.

Essex County is doing its own thing, joining Mercer, Somerset, Union and likely Hunterdon (TBD) by supporting Jack Ciattarelli‘s rival primary campaign.

“I want to thank all the candidates for coming to screen before our executive committee. After having received the overwhelming majority of votes I’m pleased to announce that the Essex County Republican Committee endorses Jack Ciattarelli for Governor,” said Chairman Al Barlas. “We believe he is the only candidate in the race who has put forth a deliverable vision on how to lower property taxes, reduce the size of government, and grow our economy.  The status quo is not working, we need change and we know Jack can deliver it.”

Middlesex County (a toss up) and Atlantic County (a lock for Guadagno) will convene committee members to decide their respective lines this Saturday morning.
