NJSEN: Hugin flexes money muscle, preempts Menendez with February TV spot

I can’t remember the last time a New Jersey Republican candidate for U.S. Senate went on the air in February, Save Jerseyans.

On Tuesday, the campaign of Republican candidate Bob Hugin did just that, launching a 30-second spot titled “Service” airing on cable news channels (e.g. CNN and Fox News). His Democrat opponent Bob Menendez hasn’t put anything up to date. It’s a sign that, while running for statewide office in New Jersey is an uphill climb for any GOP’er, the former Celgene executive (Hugin) plans to spend millions of his own money in pursuit of dethroning the ethically-challenged Democrat.
