Cesaro announces reelection campaign

PARSIPPANY, N.J. – Morris County Freeholder John Cesaro is seeking a new term on the board.

According to the candidate’s campaign, the veteran Morris Republican politico will kick off his re-election campaign on Tuesday, April 3rd at the Zeris Inn.

“I am thankful to those who are supportive of my re-election campaign and happy they have
agreed to show that support by serving on the host committee for my re-election kickoff,”
said Cesaro. “I am looking forward to serving another three years as a
freeholder and committed to working hard to keep Morris County one of the best places to live, work and raise a family.”

Freeholder Cesaro also unveiled a formidable list of endorsing mayors from roughly half of the county’s towns

Cesaro first joined the Morris freeholder board back in June 2012; he later served as deputy director in both 2015 and 2017.

His likely opponents include Deborah Smith, a fellow incumbent, as well as John Krickus and Hank Lyon, both former freeholders. Cesaro told InsiderNJ that Smith “stabbed me in the back” by running without him.

Cesaro and Lyon both unsuccessfully sought one-of-two LD26 Assembly nominations last spring.
