TRENTON, N.J. — The first major snowstorm of the 2018-2019 season is earning Governor Phil Murphy’s poor reviews from N.J. commuters in all-important preparedness category.
Hundreds of accidents were reported statewide on unsalted, unplowed state roads. Commuters were finding it taking hours to get home on Thursday night, and NJ Transit (which is poor in any weather) was rocked by train and bus schedule disruptions…

State highways are a mess. We are making due in Chester Township. @NJDOT_info pic.twitter.com/qkRRyLSpYI

I think New Jersey conducted some kind of social experiment on all of its commuters today bc there is absolutely no reason that the minuscule amount of snow we got should cause this kind of traffic disaster

This isn’t social justice warrior Murphy’s first big weather fail; last March, as a “bomb cyclone” left thousands powerless, the Democrat Governor took in a George Lopez comedy show in New Brunswick.
New Jerseyans took to Twitter to vent their rage, and among them was Murphy’s predecessor, Chris Christie:

Thanks Frank. It took me 5 hours and 40 minutes to commute from Piscataway to Mendham. #snowmess https://t.co/1zKbixZcAd

I’m surprised Murphy doesn’t try to tax the snow.

He wasn’t alone despite the Governor’s call for motorists to “stay in” since thousands were already stuck in massive traffic jams on the Garden State Parkway and other highways:

Where are the salters and plows on 280 and 80 West? Why isn't law enforcement handling traffic? Thousands of commuters are stuck in a parking lot of accidents.

@PhilMurphyNJ @Gov Murphy WHY ARE THERE NO SNOW PLOWS OR SALT TRUCKS IN NEW JERSEY #NewJersey #MyVoteCounts

Going to miss the packer game because of this traffic. @PhilMurphyNJ you are officially my arch nemesis

@PhilMurphyNJ State of emergency?? I’ve been stranded by my (closed) school since 3pm. Many of my colleagues are still stranded as well. North jersey is in gridlock with major highways closed. Students had to walk home in this.

@PhilMurphyNJ please tell me why I have been stuck in my car for 5 hours when my kids are stuck at daycare. No one is moving and no one know anything.

This is completely unacceptable. The @NJTRANSIT @PABusTerminal is one of the main ways New Jerseyans commute to and from work. Anyone else worried about the thousands of people told to go somewhere else? @GovMurphy should these folks be patient as well? https://t.co/rvqZWxdAnR

New Jersey is having the #FirstSnow storm and Phil Murphy has lost our snow plows.

Anybody remember the last time we had an absentee Governor during a storm? Yup @GovMurphy again…#StressFactoryPhil #WhereIsPhil https://t.co/8Wrz2tX5NQ https://t.co/JDyuBzuc8b
