Predictions/observations/friendly taunting are also welcome in the comment section below.

Results are below the fold in reverse chronological order… links to county clerk offices (for vote tabulations) are ALSO below the fold…

____________________ RESULTS THREAD ____________________

gop wave donohue10:02 (Wed) – GOP poised to gain at least one seat in Red Bank…

2:30 – More down ballot GOP good news: Democrat Jeff Gardner failed to overtake Republican incumbent Clerk Kristin Corrado in ordinarily-blue Passaic County.

1:31 – A huge night at the Jersey Cape, Save Jerseyans! Michael Donohue’s GOP county org went 18-1-1 (including the reelection victory of his brother, Tim, as mayor of Middle Twp). Surf’s up, Mr. Chairman!

1:27 – Good hits just keep coming: our friends (who we also profiled) in South Plainsfield were reelected in a landslide, maintaining GOP control in this Democrat registration-heavy Middlesex County suburb. Bravo!

1:23 – Some more good news: two the YR’s we’re watching (Connor Montferrat in Hightstown and John Cascarano in Caldwell) were successful in their council races! Congrats gents… do us proud!

1:10 – The Monmouth freeholder slate prevailed by around 6,000 votes, a bit closer than expected but still a strong showing for the two incumbents.

12:10: Riley wins in Cumberland after the Machine severely outspent Noto, the Republican incumbent.

11:14 – Some more updates:

Cumberland County’s Noto (R) is trailing Riley (D) by 400 votes but the GOP is pusing for an increase to 3 seats on the 7 person freeholder board.

In Monmouth they’re having machine trouble but the GOP incumbents are holding on to a lead at 27% a piece.

10:54 – with the GOP on track to win Kansas (!!!) at least seven Senate pick ups looks likely! I can’t even type straight!

10:43: The GOP has again won the Salem Freeholder Board with 2 seats and a third is still on the table as Bobbitt is on the brink…

matt rooney election coverage10:39: Don Norcross is winning big in NJ-01, not surprisingly, but he ended up with 57% for $2 million and 2,000 GOTV foot soldiers. Cobb’s name rec counted for something, just not enough.

10:37: The GOP is moving into wave territory nationally, Save Jerseyans, with gubernatorial victories in WI and FL (close races – or so we thought) and a great Senate picture…. we’re not sleeping…

10:17: Nationally, the Republican Party has netted 5 U.S. Senate seats and with several running much better for them than expected (VA???) a change in control looks likely…

10:04: More good news for the GOP – they’ve held on to both contested freeholder seats (and control) in Burlington County

9:37: Republicans doing OK down-ballot tonight in most of NJ; in Morris Township, Caffrey [i] and Johnson win over Grayzel [i] and Wilson. Johnson over Grayzel by 1-point, so a legal challenge is coming that’s control for the GOP!

9:35: Waterford flips to Republican control in Gloucester County!

9:33: More bad news…  NJ Public Question 2 passed. Ugh. Don’t complain about your property taxes if you voted yes…

9:25: Bad news for the GOP… Kathe Donovan falls short in Bergen and Democrats take the top spot in New Jersey’s most populous county… via NorthJersey.com

Donovan underperformed in Southern Bergen County where she needed to do well (as we told you in our pre-Election Day analysis)

9:18: Vicari declares in Ocean. The GOP homeland is safe.

9:08: Tom MacArthur has got this, Save Jerseyans. With 131 of 571 Precincts Reporting (23%), he’s leading by 23-points. That’s an insurmountable mountain for Aimee Belgard given how she’s underperforming in Burlco… it’s math!

9:05: Chris Smith (R, NJ04) scales the 50% mark and declares victory in Ocean County with George Gilmore at his side…

8:56: Don’t forget about Monmouth County tonight where the GOP freeholder slate is up with 10% reporting in early returns. Stay tuned.

8:53: PolitickerNJ says turnout is high in Paramus… both parties say it’s a good thing for their Bergen County slate. TBD…

8:42: FYI – I gave you the county clerk link above, but here’s a good breakdown from NJ.com of the House races as they come in…

8:41: We’re watching YR races all night with special interest. The first winner? Alex Martinez (R) in Ocean Gate! Congrats…

chris smith8:33: MacArthur wins the LD7 town of Riverton (in Burlington County) by 5-points and Cory Booker by 7-points. That’s likely good news for both TMac and the Burlco freeholders…

8:31: Cotton wins in AR… the GOP is one closer to taking back the Senate… net gain +2

8:27: Early NJ-02 result worth noting… Lobo winning Ocean City 2-to-1 (his opponent Hughes’s home base)

8:21: Where am I watching the results tonight? Tom River Hotel! With Tom MacArthur…

8:13: Cory Booker is the winner (so says the AP) we believe them.

7:45:  Polls in NJ are open for another 15 minutes but Republicans have already triumphed in KY (retention) and WV (pick up). The magic number is 6…
