There’s a good reason why Chris Christie is holding “town halls” on CNN (a station no Republican watches):
His true target audience isn’t Republicans.
On Saturday, 48 hours before His Rotundity took the stage alongside Anderson Cooper, a new YouGov/CBS News poll probed the primary contest and discovered that only 1% of Republicans (nationally) are preparing to cast ballots for Chris Christie; another 6% are considering him but he isn’t their first choice.
79% aren’t considering him at all, while 14% “haven’t heard enough.” How anyone hasn’t “heard enough” about the ex-governor of New Jersey is hard to fathom, but low information voters exist on both sides of the aisle, Save Jerseyans.
Here’s the breakdown:
2024 National Republican Primary, Consider supporting/Not consider:
Trump 75%/14% (+61)
DeSantis 51%/27% (+24)
T. Scott 21%/42% (-21)
