Chris Christie took a shot at his rival for (distant) second place in New Hampshire over the weekend, suggesting to a town hall gaggle of potential primary voters that former Ambassador Nikki Haley has “no damn business being in the Oval Office” after her recent slavery gaffe.
“When Nikki Haley said, ‘It was a Democrat plant in my town hall,’ first of all, I say to everybody in New Hampshire, whoever wants to come in this room, come in this room, and whatever question you want to ask me, ask me,” Christie told his audience. “If I can’t deal with a question from a voter in New Hampshire, I have no damn business being in the Oval Office. I guarantee you that.”
Haley – who is *only* 14-points behind Donald Trump in the latest Granite State poll – was criticized after her own town hall on Wednesday for failing to volunteer slavery as a top cause of the U.S. Civil War.
Christie is in a distant third place in the same poll.
