Trump endorses Purdy for NJGOP National Committeeman over Christie ally

Donald Trump is once again dunking on Chris Christie, Save Jerseyans, this time by endorsing Don Purdy for NJGOP National committeeman.

Purdy, the Atlantic County GOP chair, is challenging long-time Christie ally and born again Never Trumper Bill Palatucci who once served as counsel for Trump’s presidential transition before falling out of favor.

”Don Purdy and Janice Fields are running for RNC National Committee against Candidates 100% controlled by Sloppy Chris Christie in the Great State of New Jersey,” Trump declared on his Truth Social platform on Monday afternoon.

The NJGOP itself is undergoing a transition; just this month, three incumbent county chairs lost bids for re-election.

Palatucci’s own re-election fight headed into next month’s RNC in Milwaukee is underscored by the national organization’s decision to strip New Jersey of most of its delegates pursuant to rules backed by Palatucci.

The state committee is set to convene and vote on Thursday; Janice Fields is uncontested for national committeewoman after Ocean County’s Ginny Haines declined to seek another term.
