Judge dismisses deeply-flawed Trump federal documents case

Donald Trump scored a big win on Monday only 48 hours after surviving an assassination attempt.

U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon dismissed the “classified” documents case pending in a Florida-based federal court; Cannon’s 93-page decision turned on the court’s believe that the appointment and funding of special counsel Jack Smith was “unlawful.”

“The clerk is directed to close this case,” Judge Cannon concluded.

The news represented a major blow to the lawfare campaign waged by the Biden Administration against the Republican nominee, and it comes on the same day that the RNC opens in Milwaukee…

“The dismissal of the classified documents case is a seismic development,” opined legal analyst and professor Jonathan Turley on X. “From the beginning of all of these cases, I have said that the Mar-a-Lago case was the greatest threat to the former president. It is now dismissed.”
