Tom Kean Jr. narrated his first TV ad of the 2024 General Election cycle on Wednesday; titled “Trust,” the incumbent recalls his relatively competitive U.S. Senate challenge to Bob Menendez in 2006 and his proposal to outlaw members of Congress engaging in trading stocks.
Watch below:
Here’s the script:
“Nearly twenty years ago, I took on one crooked politician. I also fought corruption in Trenton. And just last year, voted to expel a member of my own party for violating the law. Now, I’m supporting a bipartisan bill to ban members of Congress from trading stocks, and authored another, to make certain that public officials aren’t investing in foreign adversaries. I’m Tom Kean, Jr. and I approve this message, because you deserve a Congressman that you can trust.”
This is Kean’s first reelection campaign. He narrowly defeated incumbent Democrat Tom Malinowski by 2.8-points in 2022 in a Central Jersey battleground district which slightly leans Republican.
