Is there a New Jersey public institution that annoys our residents more than NJ Transit, Save Jerseyans? And by annoy, I mean make want to jump out of a window?
The MVC, maybe? But consecutive years of delays, cancellations, staggering waste and across-the-board incompetence have helped the scandal-plagued largest public transportation network in the country leapfrog other terrible state agencies as the most complained about public entity in the entire Garden State. That’s quite the accomplishment!
And yet somehow, the NJ Transit social media team decided it made sense to celebrate “another great year” in a New Year’s Eve X post:
Thanks for another great year, NJ! Take a look back at NJ TRANSIT’s 2024! pic.twitter.com/vYXqS3mYxo

Unsurprisingly, New Jersey X and some very justifiably jaded commuters had a field day – and did PLENTY of venting – with easily the most out-of-touch post in recent history:
This is why NJ shouldn’t have legalized pot. Time to put down the weed. pic.twitter.com/FEpG6vDrEC

You can’t possibly be serious with this? 2024 was a disaster for @NJTRANSIT you should be embarrassed to post this.

Didn’t you raise the rates by 15% and then @GovMurphy gave away a free week of rides because of the outcry?
