Sherrill is running for governor, but she’s fixated on another Trump impeachment

New Jersey’s got problems, Save Jerseyans. Big ones.

Ideally, the next governor would focus his (or her) energies on tackling property taxes, post-Covid learning loss, a looming electricty bill crisis and illegal alien crime among a long list of other pressing issues. But that’s not where Democrat frontrunner Mikie Sherrill is focused. At least not if you take her at her word.

“I think you have to test yourself. I think it’s not enough to take on one tough fight. I think there’s a lot of tough fights going on,” Sherrill, a House member, opined at an April 26th event at the Ridgeway Volunteer Fire Company Station 34 in Manchester Township.

“When I impeached the president the first time… who knew I would ever be saying…” Sherrill continued before an audience member said “do it again.”

“Yeah, exactly. We’ll see,” Sherrill respond amid a backdrop of laughter from the audience. “Maybe we’ll go for the trifecta.”

This may be smart politics for a Democrat Primary, but with so many profound challenges facing the Garden State, do we really need ANOTHER governor who is fixated on national politics and relevancy in national politics? Phil Murphy and his attorney general, Matt Platkin, have spent more time, energy, and cost suing the Trump Administration than they’ve addressed to fixing anything that’s obviously and egregiously wrong with how Trenton operates.

Ideology is important. The most important thing: priorities.

We need a governor who wants to govern New Jersey. Not develop a presidential launching pad like Christie or Murphy. When such a person can be found? Our state can finally be saved.
