Hudson Bob is now a guest of the government.
Bob Menendez will begin his 11-year prison sentence today, Save Jerseyans, after a federal appeals court rejected his bid to remain free pending appeal last week.
Our former senior U.S. senator and veteran Garden State politician is reportedly set to report on Tuesday to the Federal Correctional Institution in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania, located a couple of hours from New York City.
The facility featurs both minimum and medium security detention areas, so since Menendez’s 16 convicted federal counts are all reflective of “white collar” crimes, he’s likely to end up in the minimum security camp.
Menendez and his wife were both convicted as part of a bribery scheme that saw the Menendez couple receive gifts including gold bars, cash, and even a luxury car which the government said constituted bribes. Nadine Menendez won’t be sentenced until September.
