N.J. Republicans continue registration gains despite hot Democrat primary

New Jersey Republicans continued to gain on Democrats in statewide registration in May 2025 despite a competitive Democrat Primary which may have boosted Democrat registrations.

New Jersey Republicans picked up a net of 2,768 registrants last month.

Democrats gained 2,226, or 542 less than the GOP.

Republicans in the Garden State have now out-registered Democrats for an undeniably significant 53 months in a row. The statewide Democrat advantage is now approximately 827,000, but that’s down from well over one million at the beginning of 2021.
