It’s fair game to ask Mikie Sherrill where she disagrees (if at all) with Zohran Mamdani, Save Jerseyans.
Government-run grocery stores?
Free daycare?
Defund the police?
The list is extensive, and her answers are important.
What we do know: Sherrill, the Democrat nominee for New Jersey governor, offered a tacit endorsement of the socialist anti-Semite New York mayoral nominee on Thursday morning to Politico.
“Voters want leaders who understand their daily struggles and are willing to throw out the old playbook to solve them, and while I have plenty of disagreements with Mr. Mamdani, I share his voters’ goal of making life more affordable,” said Sherrill. “I’m focused on my race and bringing costs down in New Jersey, while Jack Ciattarelli represents politics as usual: a 100% MAGA lackey who has voted to raise taxes at every level of government, and has been running for office since before my kids were born.”
New Jersey Republicans pounced as some national Democrats expressed concerns about the New York rising star.
“NJ, we are at a precipice,” tweeted State Senator Holly Schepisi (R-Bergen County). “I am calling on Mikie Sherrill to immediately retract her endorsement of Mamdani for Mayor of NYC. It is a slap in the face to every Jewish resident, police, our business communities and our way of life. The choice this November is patently clear.”
National, state and local Republicans echoed Schepisi’s sentiments:
I don’t expect my Democrat opponents to agree with me on much, but hopefully they will denounce the dangerous rhetoric and agenda of Zohran Mamdani. Disappointing he has earned the support of my colleague, @MikieSherrill.

.@MikieSherrill‘s support for Zohran Mamdani is disturbing. He holds anti-Semitic views &a desire to defund the police. @DonlonPeterpaul must denounce Mikie immediately.
When @Jack4NJ is Governor, we’ll work with him in the Assembly to fix NJ & bring back common sense. It’s time pic.twitter.com/RYnIT8ThQT

@MikieSherrill‘s endorsement of a communist, anti-police extremist with a history of antisemitism is shameful.
All Democrat Assembly members should denounce this vile endorsement immediately.

.@MikieSherrill’s endorsement of a radical, anti-police extremist with a record of antisemitic rhetoric is deeply troubling and eye-opening to New Jersey residents.
Every Democrat State Senator should immediately reject it. Silence is complicity. #NJPolitics
