I don’t understand why Leftists get their collective panties in a twist over immigration enforcement efforts. Or at least I can’t fathom a good faith reason for it. We know that Democrat politicians thrive on creating new victim classes and mobilizing those “victims” to vote. What’s the HONEST argument in favor of dismantling our borders and national identity? In favor of the chaos which we witnessed during the four years preceding President Trump’s return to power?
Again… the only answer is purely political and unflattering.
Consider the following: it’s been reported that U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth confirmed for a New Jersey Democrat House member (Herb Conway of Burlington County) that South Jersey’s sprawling Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst will receive illegal aliens.
“I certify that the provision of Department of Defense real property at Camp Atterbury, Indiana and Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, New Jersey, for temporary use by the Department of Homeland Security to house illegal aliens will not negatively affect military training, operations, readiness, or other military requirements, including National Guard and Reserve readiness,” Hegseth explained earlier this week.
“We condemn in the strongest possible terms the decision by the Trump Administration to use Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst as an immigrant detention center,” Conway and his fellow Democrats griped in a joint released statement. “This is an inappropriate use of our national defense system and military resources.
Conway also referred to the base itself as a “northeastern gulag.”
Why? I haven’t heard a substantive example from any complaining party regarding how, specifically, Hegseth is wrong and how this move will in any way harm our military.
There is plenty of hard substantive evidence that illegal immigration is a massive problem in the Garden State. One recent study discovered that roughly 1 in 10 New Jersey residents are actually illegal. In recent months, ICE has arrested wanted criminal illegal aliens throughout the state including foreign nationals with violent and/or criminal sexual rap sheets. Isn’t protecting the United States from invasion a top military priority?
Conway, Mikie Sherrill, and their fellow Democrat colleagues should redirect their anger to Joe Biden and Kamala Harris for creating the NEED for a move like this. But they won’t, because this latest meltdown is just more of the same political theater that’s driving the American Middle away from Democrats.
