Alina Habba is remaining in place as New Jersey’s U.S. Attorney for now, Save Jerseyans, at least through the end of March 2026.
Here’s how: Habba resigned as interim U.S. Attorney on Thursday before her current interim term expired on Friday, and then she was promptly appointed “First Assistant” U.S. Attorney by the Trump Administration, replacing the former First Attorney fired by Pam Bondi. Habba will consequently fill the vacancy created since the state’s federal bench voted against extending her tenure.
“Donald J. Trump is the 47th President. Pam Bondi is the Attorney General. And I am now the Acting United States Attorney for the District of New Jersey,” Habba announced on X. “I don’t cower to pressure. I don’t answer to politics. This is a fight for justice. And I’m all in.”
