“No tax on tips” is now the law of the land, Save Jerseyans, making it one of the latest of President Trump’s 2024 campaign promises to become reality.
Congressman Jeff Van Drew (R, NJ-02), whose district includes the entirety of Atlantic County, wants to make sure that New Jersey casino workers benefit from the change in tax law.
“I just sent a letter to Secretary Bessent urging him to make sure casino workers are included in the new no-tax-on-tips law,” explained Van Drew on X. “In Atlantic City, dealers, valets, and cocktail servers rely on tips to make a living, just like servers and bartenders. They deserve the same break.”
A 2023 impact report found Atlantic City’s nine casinos employing 22,634 workers between them.
