Our office sent out the safe, sanitized statement a few days ago that’s supposed be my position on all of this insanity. The standard bullshit saying there’s no place for political violence. The one that protects me from saying anything controversial.
But it isn’t helping the pit in my stomach seeing how sick a large portion of this country now is. My wife is still terrified about how much the targeting of public figures and politicians will spread. And that fear is real… because what’s happening out there is far worse than most people realize. I can’t be silent.
The past two days, I’ve gone down the rabbit hole myself. I’ve seen thousands of accounts, posts and videos celebrating Charlie Kirk’s death. From all walks of life. Teachers in Ocean County. Business owners in my Legislative District. Doctors. Nurses. First Responders. People who hold your life in their hands, shape our kids’ minds, and protect our communities. If you aren’t horrified that pockets of evil exist across all walks of our society and are openly cheering assassination, you aren’t paying attention.
Charlie had just highlighted a poll showing nearly half of left of center individuals have at least some level of support for political assassinations. That’s pure evil. That’s mental illness on a mass scale.
Don’t fool yourself… this isn’t a handful of deranged people. If I can find thousands on my own in a few days, if polling shows these positions…. that means there are millions out there. Millions being enabled, emboldened, and empowered.
This is where we are. And if you’re not awake to it yet, you need to be. If you celebrated his death even silently, unfollow me. If you have friends who celebrated outwardly and you stood silently by, unfollow me. And then take a long look in the mirror. Consider talking to God and re-evaluating your life.
Charlie Kirk stood for free and open debate. Every one of us should stand for that. The truth is simple: stupid and mentally ill people shout opinions they can’t defend. And when facts expose their emptiness, they lash out with insults, rage, and sometimes violence. That isn’t strength. That isn’t conviction. That’s the mark of a small and damaged mind… and an even smaller and damaged person.
Charlie’s death ripped the mask off. It showed the world just how deep that sickness runs. Now the question is whether you have the courage to see it. Open your eyes.
With the capture of Tyler Robinson, this is going to intensify even more. These deranged individuals will soon start celebrating him. He’ll get the Luigi Mangione treatment. They’ll attempt to validate his actions and normalize his behavior. Don’t let it happen. Fight back. I am with you.
