NRCC highlights Tom Kean Jr.’s career, accomplishments in new biographical video

By Matt Rooney

New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District will host one of the Midterm cycle’s marquee matchups, Save Jerseyans, so the National Republican Campaign Committee (NRCC) informally kicked off its 2026 cycle in the Garden State with a brief biographical video.

“Rep. Tom Kean Jr. has dedicated his career to making life better for New Jerseyans, and his time in Congress has been no different,” said NRCC Spokeswoman Maureen O’Toole. “From lowering taxes to securing the border and creating an economy that works for everyone, Rep. Kean fights, and wins, for New Jersey families.”

Here’s a partial transcript from the NRCC’s “Inside the Majority” video:

“I grew up in a family that believed deeply in public service. I was a volunteer firefighter, an emergency medical technician, I was a Sunday school teacher. I knew that one person could make a difference in another person’s life. And I also knew that when government gets too much power, it takes away people’s hopes and their dreams. So we need to make sure that we reduce the size of government in a responsible way.”

“The issues that were impacting the people in New Jersey were national in scope. Out of control inflation, massive increases in government spending, an unsecure southern border, unaffordability. And so I ran for public office because I wanted to make a change in all of those. We were able to secure the southern border, we were able to lower taxes and create more affordability for people of the state of New Jersey. We created an innovation economy so that people could have more opportunities here in New Jersey as well as in the country.”

Son of the former governor and a longtime state senator before joining the U.S. House of Representatives, TK2 was reelected to his Central Jersey district by over 5-points in 2024 but Mikie Sherrill narrowly carried NJ-07 (by less than a point) in 2025.

The current Democrat field is a clown car with no clear frontrunner to challenge Kean.
